Husqvarna mower with Briggs and Stratton engine

I don't have a spring. What is it called and what is its purpose? Is this why the lawn mower won't run for long?

I agree the spring that was there looked like 209A or 211, what is the difference? Do I need both?

One of the springs was way too small so I got the other one. I installed the spring, I may be installing wrong but it doesn't put any tension. I get the mower to start and it just doesn't want to run long. I can keep running if I spray starter fluid into card, which tells me either the spark is weak or the fuel is not getting there consistently. What do you all think? What next?

good description I will be cleaning the carb in the morning. I will let you know the outcome.

I cleaned the carburetor and it definitely needed it. A couple things to note, the bowl gasket is stretched and dried out, I will need another one. Noticed there is not a fuel filter, should there be one installed in line? One last thing the gasket that is between the carb and primer bulb needs replacing. Looks like Monday.
