then acts like it's running out of gas.

Changed the oil and air filter as well as the spark plug.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, so thanks in advance!

Hello, does it restart afterwards or when its cooled down a bit.If so I would say its the coil that's over heating and shutting down when too hot.

Thanks for the reply. I'll check the coil for damage.

When the engine dies, and won't restart, do a spark test. Tip: Do this under a shaded area so you can see the spark clearly. If you are getting spark, it is probably a fuel/air delivery issue. If no spark, inspect the spark plug wire and cap. Look at the ignition coil for any signs of damage, or if it has come loose. In the K8 v K9 comparison thread, I mentioned checking the air gap between the coil and flywheel; it should be 0.2~0.4 mm.

Believe it or not, the dang thing must have fixed itself!

I watched my 16 yr old son flip it over to free some zoyzia that had stopped my 4 yr old dull blades. He flipped it the wrong way and took his time to flip back up-right. Also didn't turn the gas off. I'm thinking maybe some gas got on the ignition and caused the problem. But I cranked it up today and it ran like a champ for 30 minutes (till I finished.)
