I've got a HR215 mower that I received with a bent crank. I found another engine off of a HR214 that I've transplanted onto the deck....having difficulty getting it started, so thought I'd check the valve clearance. The is an OHV engine. Anyone know what the clearance should be for the intake and exhaust?

A Quick follow-up == found the information in the Honda manual....

Valves are probably ok, they rarely go out of spec. More likely is poor fuel delivery or blocked air or vacuum leak. Of course, make sure you have good spark first, then look closely at the carburetor and air cleaner. Is the choke closing ALL the WAY? Fresh fuel? Fuel getting the carb bowl? Gaskets on the carb secure? Missing any linkage or springs on the throttle / governor?

Thanks Robert for this follow-up. I'll look again at the carb. I know I've got spark, so I'll play around with the fuel delivery system!
