Hr-215 I want to cut grass without engaging self propel.

I picked up this used HR215, and I can't get over the fact that in order to engage the blade you have to have the self propel engaged as well. Is there a way around this? It seems like whoever designed this has never mowed a lawn before.

I see manuals, for presumably later models, that have two separate controls for the blade and the self propel. Did I just happen to buy the stupidest lawn mower design honda ever made?

There should be 3 letters after 215. Please post those letters. Post a picture of your upper handle if you can.

Doesn't sound right.

They don't side discharge either. Good engine, terrible mower.

Which version?

Most hr214/hr215 have 2 handles, one for drive and one for blade. They can be used independently. I may have misunderstood the model...I have (1) 214 and (3) 215 at the moment.1784391062250.png1784391214357.png

HR-215BL. Looks like someone removed the drive lever and hooked it to the blade lever.
