How long does it take you to mow your XX acre lawn with XX size mower.

I tried to find information on how long it takes people to mow lawns, but could not find much useful information. I'd like to know as this will help me figure out what I should replace my 18" corded mower wiht and may be useful to others as well.

This is what I have...
Lawn Size: 1/2 acre
Mower Information: 18" Black & Decker corded electric mower
Bag/Mulch: Mulch
Time it takes to mow: 3 hours
Other info: I mow my yard at a relatively fast pace and only take about a 5 minute break in the 3 hour stretch.

When I cut with my 21 in. mower....

Lawn Size: 0.25 acre

I also am going to get an Exmark Metro 26, which I demo-ed. Here is the info for that.

2.5 acres takes me about 45 mins. with a 72" cut Exmark Lazer Z 31 horse

6 acres takes just 3.25 hours with my almost new Gravely ZT HD 60. About 2 acres has a lot of trees to go around. Super machine.

.75 acres JD X300 42" deck (need to fit it through the gates) and it takes me 40 minutes. A bit longer if it's longer and I mow it twice or bag it. Wish it took longer

.5 acre with trees/etc. Use a 42" Lawn Tractor never at highest speed.
Takes about 50 minutes and about 25 or 30 to trim and edge....

2+ lots with many shrubs, hedges & ornaments to weed eat around & also fences. I can do it usually in 2 beers, if its hot 3. :laughing: all in good fun.

Craftsman DYT4000 with 42" cut took about 4-5hrs or so bagging it.
Deck went bad,now pulling a 5ft finish mower takes 2-3hrs not bagging.

I have 2 acres total,minus the space taken up by 1800sqft house,1300sqft shop and a 1/4-1/3ac pond.

Can't wait to finish my garden tractor build,when i'll have a 56" deck along with offset finish mower

Similar to above,I don't really time it. I load a couple joe rogan podcasts and simply space out on the mower. Love it.

This is my property,the two trees on bottom aren't mine. Draw a line straight across bottom of pic from the fence you can barely see in backyard and that is basically my property line. I mow from there forward to road.

Exmark Explorer 20 hp Kohler -- 52",deck--mulch
2.5 ac with numerous trees and several flower beds approx 3.5 hrs

Current Home:
Land Pride ZR 18 hp Honda-- 44" deck --mulch
0.5 ac few trees,1 flower bed. 45 mins.

75' X 550' landing field, about 50 minutes. Just cutting, no mulching or bagging with 25hp Craftsman, 46" deck. Twice a week to do it right..:biggrin:
