I own a Harmony 2013, I have a problem with the engine shutting down after running approximate 20 minutes or so. Any ideas would be grateful. I did check the gas and oil all is ok with them. Please help Mike
When you are able to get the tractor's engine to quit, check for spark. Replace spark pug if questionable, or no spark. Install a new spark plug and test again. IF sill no spark, check spark plug wire, high-tension cord, replace each if questionable. Re-check for spark. Spark can also vanish if any part of the interlock system is failing. There are interlock switches on the shift lever, brake pedal, parking brake and seat-switch. It's rare for them to just fail out-of-the blue, especially if the engine starts and runs fine for a while, but be aware if any are borderline, they can kill spark
Once you get solid, bright spark, but still no start, the issues is likely to be fuel and/or air supply. Ensure the choke is fully opening and closing. Inspect air cleaner/filter, and clean replace as necessary.
How old is the fuel? If more than 45 days old, fully drain the tank and carb and fill with fresh fuel. Consider running some fuel system cleaner for a tank or two. The carb may have internal varnish, dirt, or debris causing fuel flow problems. The carb would need to be removed, thoroughly cleaned, again, run with fresh fuel. As a last resort, you may just need to replace the entire carb. It can be easier/faster and not too expensive compared to a complete cleaning.
