Honda hf1211 kill circuit / interlocks not working

Hi

The mower starts fine, but it won’t stop on the key. Magneto wire grounded kills engine so the magneto works.

Also safety interlocks don’t work, which is not ideal.

I tried a second hand PCB, that didn’t work
I’ve tested switches. The “grass box attached” switch has failed, but the rest are working fine.

Ive tested the ignition key and that seems to be ok (it’s not a genuine key but has blue, red and white connectors correctly installed…

has anyone had this issue before? Any suggestions. This mower is taking up a lot of my spare time (more than usual) and I’m starting to dream about Honda wiring diagrams…..

I'm having trouble finding a wiring diagram. I found one in French, linked off this site, but it doesn't help much. Do you have a link to one in English? It could be a bad connection/broken wire. The kill switch usually grounds the magneto, with ignition switch off. Safety circuits can also do that, but can also depend on voltage being present. Check and clean all connections. Do you have a voltmeter or wiring diagram? Here's the french one https://www.lawnmowerforum.com/threads/honda-hf1211-wiring.45028/ If you can trace circuits, you can check for broken wires.

Bypass the defective safety switch. Run another kill wire from ignition switch directly to ignition coil to turn engine off and permanently mount and protect wire.

Well it is simple to find with an Ohms meter. Which ever terminal connects to gold ground terminal with the switch in off position is the kill terminal. Sorry can't be more specify but I can't any decent wiring schematic just a so call line diagram which is worst then some.
