Hello All, here are some pictures of the in-progress GXV120 build.

Items done thus far.

1. Dissembled the engine completely and clean every part, bolt, nut, washer, etc. In a Ultrasonic cleaner.
2. Block bored to .50mm over and honed.
3. New piston (.50mm over), New piston rings (.50mm over), New piston pin clips, all new seals, New gaskets.
4. Checked every part (per Honda Shop manual) for service tolerance limits.
5. As far as new parts are concerned. I replaced (see #3 above).
6. Following all torque settings for all parts during reassembly.
7. Mild porting on the intake/exhaust ports.

It's still in progress

Great pictures.
I've just rebuilt a Sanli lawn mower engine of the same size, and from the looks of it, the Chinese engine copied a lot of details from Honda.

Did you open the case on that engine?
I've worked out how the governor works, and how the decompressor works, but am wondering about lubrication. Seems to be splash only on the Sanli engine, judging from the internal contruction and the amount of aluminium shine in the old oil.

Yes, I opened the case. See above for update.

Good you can buy rebore spares for that motor.

Is it splash or forced lubrication in that engine? Can't see your updated pictures.

With respect to the first question.

No rebore spares are unavailable.

Is it splash or forced lubrication in that engine?

This particular Honda Engine (GXV120) would probably be considered "splash lubrication". Perhaps someone else can verify.

Can't see your updated pictures?

I don't have any updated pictures.
