High End Residential Mower

I also intended to bag after moving to a ZTR from my old tractor style. I was surprised to find that the blade tip speed alone made such a huge difference I didn't have to bag. I cut around 3" every time, and often let it get to 5 or 6 (2 weeks + ) before I mow. I cross cut and the next day it looks great. I saved a bundle not buying the bagger, plus I don't have to worry about disposing of all the clippings. Since I am in the county and not the city there's no free grass pick-up and I hate compost piles. I haven't bought a mulching kit yet, but I would see no reason it wouldn't perform well. I might have to cut it twice at varying heights to achieve the look I am after, but for now I will just discharge and keep my blades maintained well.

Ideally I'd like to get a mulching kit with the mower and just mulch everything, then I can just remove the baffles and add the bagger if its needed.

So the 42" Kubota comes with ZT-2200 hydros are these the same or different than the EZT hydros? From what I can tell they're one and the same and people don't like the EZT's at all. If this is the case I think the Scag is going to be the clear winner.

I have mowers with the EZT's never had a problem with them.

Guys on here always say they won't last. But none of them have ever had one go bad.

Even if one was to fail you can get a total rebuilt kit for $120.00 Takes less then a hour. I did two because I broke a axle. ( flipped down a hill)

Thank you, that's reassuring because I really liked the size of the 42" Kubota and that was the only red flag that stuck out to me.
 
Thank you everyone for your help! Today I pulled the trigger on the 52" Liberty Z with an Accelerator bagger. This worked perfectly for what I needed since I would have needed to take the bagger off to get it in my shed. I also like that the accelerator will be much easier to store and it was over 1000 less than the Scag bagger!
