Hey y'all,

Just wanted to drop in and say hello from Middle Tennessee.

I've spent most of my life turning wrenches, mostly doing industrial maintenance and dealing with hydraulics. These days I'm working in the parts business, but in my spare time, you'll usually find me out in my pole barn messing around with small engines.

Right now my main runners are an old John Deere 345 with the liquid-cooled Kawasaki and a Toro TimeCutter zero-turn. That JD is a beast, but man, she definitely keeps me busy with the maintenance.

I also end up helping the neighbors with their mowers whenever they run into trouble, so I get to see a bit of everything.

I've got a decent handle on the mechanical basics, but these small engines always seem to have their own little quirks. Looking forward to learning from you guys and helping out where I can.

Glad to be here!

Hello D.,

Welcome to the forum.

If you need help with any machine, please include the product identification label and engine label information. There were many changes made during the production of most machines.

We have many "well-seasoned" small engine equipment veterans that can help you.

Dealing with small engines can be a challenge because parts availability is getting worse all the time. They are not hard to work on they just create bigger headaches and parts delays.

There are some great folks on You Tube that post in depth repair videos and diagnostic steps. Stay away from any of the "10 minutes and I fixed it garbage videos".
