HELP !!! Shift difficulty - Snapper SR928

Hello,
I have a Snapper SR 928 rider with a 9 H.P. engine. Mower runs great. It will go on all forward gears fairly well but is extremely difficult to place in neutral or reverse, the forward gears are a little stubborn but manageable. If anyone could give me any advice on what may be my problem and how to solve it, I would very much appreciative it. Thank you for your time.
 
If you hold the brake / clutch Pedel all the way down it makes it hard to put in gear just let it up a little and try it

Thank you very much CARSCW for your advice, you solved my problem, I guess I thought I was driving a manual shift car. Depressing the pedal partially and it shifts smoothly, Many Thanks for your help !!
