Help identify and kill grass/weed in fescue

I need help in identifying and killing the grass/weed that grows in my fescue yard. The grass/weed grows faster and lighter than the fescue and comes back every spring. I've tried pre emergent and broadleaf weed killer with no luck. Any help would be much appreciated.

Looks like Quackgrass....
There is No control using a broadleaf weed killer, It is not a broadleaf....

With the undesirable grass being taller and in a relative small area, consider wicking it with a sponge saturated with glyphosate but not dripping wet. Begin at the far side and work backward so one doesn't foot print the glyphosate on desirable grass.

Update: Thanks for the tips. I've done some more research and it looks to me like this is Orchardgrass. If I'm understanding this correctly there is not way to kill this while not killing the fescue. Is roundup the best bet? If so, how long do I have to wait to reseed?

I suppose it is hard to believe but around here we just call that spring grass and consider it part of the lawn.

Roundup is probably your best bet. It breaks down in the soil after about a week so waiting 10 days to 2 weeks after spraying should be OK. I've done that a couple of times with pretty good luck.+
