Hedge trimmer issue

Hi, wondering if anyone can help me I have a hs45 hedge trimmer I put a new exhaust/muffler on it and my machine won’t run properly it starts but as soon as I release the throttle trigger it stops I put the old exhaus/muffler back on and it runs fine. Do I need to adjust the carburetor for the new exhaust or do I have a faulty part? Thanks
 
Take out the exhaust outlet screwed into the bottom of it and look. Start it up without it and see what happens.

Those pesky two strokes are pretty particular about the exhaust. I'd guess some idle mixture adjusting is needed for the new muffler due to lower restriction.
