Something that will pass through a 36" gate then unfold to a decent cutting width, 42" or wider:thumbsup: I know about cub cadets feeble attempt, I was thinking more along the lines of diy results.

Great Dane had one years ago. It was a great design if you could find a picture it might help with your home build.

I saw a company use two sets of truck loading ramps and drive over a fence with a 48" walk behind

It seems like it wouldn't be easy, but that would be a good idea. That way you can use the same width mower for the whole yard, just "shrink it" so it can get through the gates.
