Grasshopper 725K wont shut off

I just bought a 1997 grasshopper 725K. The previous owner had the motor rebuilt and said that it had started running on one cylinder. When I got to pick it up it started up and has been running great. Problem is when I turn the key position to "off" the mower doesn't turn off. You can hear a change in the sound of the engine, but it doesn't actually kill the mower. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Not sure of HP but it is a kohler motor. It does have a new ignition switch on it and i also took one off a different grasshopper i have and it didn't change anything.

Sounds like maybe one cylinder is getting killing and the other running. Verify this and which cyl it is if this is the case.

Yes that it what it seems like. i will have to go verify for sure tho
