Gents; Rebuilt my old GC190 engine. All went surprisingly well.....lots of videos, forum help and diagrams on the net. However, when I started the engine the rpms skyrocketed. Noticed the governor arm was not responding so I readjusted the governor as per the manual to no avail. I took the case apart to look at the internal governor and it looked fine so I put all back together and started the engine. Same issue which is skyrocketing rpms. The governor shaft flops back and forth while the engine is running so I strongly suspected the internal governor is not turning. Is it possible the new crankshaft I purchased with it's new style plastic cam and governor gear is not engaging the governor? If this issue has happened to any one of you gents please give this old man, who thinks he's a great mechanic, some advice! Thanks in advance.
