G1-RM10 Recharge Ride on -starts and stops

I have had my Recharge mower for approx. 6 years and am one of the few that love the thing. It is a 36 volt system. I have lots of problems, but they have all been fixable. My problem now is that the mower doesn't want to start unless I push it. Once it starts it runs fine until I slow down or stop. Once I stop it doesn't want to go again without a push. Does anybody have any suggestions? My battery is relatively new.

I would guess that the brushes need replaced in the motor.

maybe a bearing is seizing-up in the drivetrain somewhere?
