What is the consensus on replacing fuel shut off valves: stick with a brand name like Briggs, Stens, etc , or any generic off Amazon with decent ratings? I did see a rather nice metal one, but at about three times the price of the plastic it made me reconsider.

Thanks!

I prefer Stens if available. Amazon ad Ebay is a crapshoot.

My choice is a needle valve . I've had one on 2 air tanks for 40 years

The 2 i have withstood 1,500 lbs . The first biggest mistake people make with them is close 10X harder need be closed . When you feel it closed stop .

The main point is that they have to withstand fuel. A raw brass needle like used on air tanks may leak around the stem where the seal is. Fuel will swell and degrade soft rubber product, so Viton synthetic rubber is used.
