Fuel shut off location?

Wanting to cut in a shut off valve on my Cub Cadet lawn tractor and wondering if the best location would be to install the valve where the fuel filter is in the photo and move the fuel filter to the left of the hose clamp that anchored to the block? Thanks

Either way, but try & keep fuel filter away from the engine head (near spark plug) as much as possible.

I would put it as close to the fuel tank as possible.
