fuel mix ratio for t-270

I was given an old t-270 a couple of years ago and it's the best trimmer I have ever had. While searching for tune-up parts I noticed the fuel mix ratio listed at 50-1. The fuel cap on mine shows 25-1. Did something change or is that the wrong cap?

Sounds like the wrong cap. Correct fuel mix ratio is 50:1. Or u could run a good synthetic like Amsoil saber 100:1. Won't smoke as much that way either. In any case, it's not 25:1.

2 cycle oil mixing used to drive me crazy , found a SYNTHETIC product for ALL 2 cycle engines OPTI-2 ( find them on-line ) it rates out close to 100/1 ratio , BUT fear not, .... this is FNTASTIC stuff ....1.2 ounces per Gallon of gas ...... and no smoke, cleaner and cooler engine running, just make sure your measurements are correct or add just a few more DROPS of the Opti to be sure ! YES people will say you're crazy but trust it, ..... you'll never put up with all that fussing again.

I am using Amsoil Saber. I mixed for the 80 to one ratio with Shell 94 octane. I run all my 2 cycle equipment on it.
I can go to the 100 to 1 , but I am happy with the 80 to one.
One mix for all my Echo , Ryobi and Homelite.

I have a late 80's Zenoah\Redmax(at least same brand as yours) I use the current bottle of oil/1gal gas sold by Echo so whatever ratio it is, it works for mine FWIW.

That would be the 50:1 mix, or 2.6 oz to 1 gallon of good gas.

BAHHhhhh .... 40:1 - 50:1 all mosquito foggers, ... Synthetic 100:1 is theeeee ONLY way to run smoke-less and cleaner !!..:thumbsup:
