FS111 Strimmer head query

OK, life should be simple but hey ho… I bought a Autocut C26-2 for my (secondhand) FS 111 strimmer. After a battle I got the old head off – the gear box does not appear to be standard and the thread size does not match the C26-2. Any thoughts what this is? I have attached a photo. Options?

You must remove the old head adapter. Note: this should be a LH threaded item.
