Busy lately, getting my own stuff and the neighbors ready for winter.

Had to go to a celebration of life event for a woman both my Better Half and I taught with - she came down with Leukemia (adult onset) and then an infection that they could not stop. Unexpected, as she was always in good health until this happened.

Keep in touch with friends --- You never know !!

Maybe some people just can not handle a man that speaks what's on his mind. Not saying I agree with everything he has to say but he is honest and will tell you just what he thinks He does not tell you what you want to hear just so you will like him.

Carscw as far as jd goes I think Kenny's post pretty much hit it right on the head.

I don't believe people have a problem with someone speaking what's on there mind but I do believe when people post messages with abusive language and with the intent of continually causing controversy on a forum it's going to cause problems for them, people on the forum and the forum Administration.

I don't think it bothers him that it's dead, on the contrary. I think the point he's trying to make is that the FP can't exists without him.

Yes it seems to be slowing up for some reason. We are out of mowing season and it has been a mild season for snow. When we get some good snow storms or when the grass starts growing things will pick up I am guessing. This is my frist year on this forum so I am only guessing. Maybe someone who has been here longer then me would know more about this???

Like other sites activity seems to cycle. It does not mean its the end. We see new people joining all the time. Some will be very active others will take a while to get involved. This time of the year many perople are busy with hobbies etc. Others may not have liked how they were treated etc.

I think that this site will fail if its members take the position that its dead. The members make it what it is.

Believe me I know how forums cycle but I also know what I see. Yes People are joining all the time and the lack of the involvement of those people is nothing new but the lack of postings and the fact that the high ranking members here has diminished along with some others tells me something.

I don't know if I really want to say what I think the reason for the down fall is and if I was to do so It would only be opinion.
I agree with fastback when he stated or said that a lot of people were turned off by the spam but I believe it goes deeper than that.
Can something be done to avoid it? I can say that after what I saw happen last night my guess is that much is not going to change.

I think its always been a campaign that if you didn't own a zero turn that doesn't say Snapper or Deere you didn't own a mower and wasn't the Legion of Doom a couple of guys that had a WWE thing going a few years back? :smile: :thumbsup:
As far as former members starting there own forum to plan our demise, I don't think they have to do that on another forum when it appears that someone is doing that here. Maybe we need to rename this forum and call it Wrestle Mania.

I don't know any more today than I did yesterday. As for the name brand or type of tractor we own I think things get a little rediculous. Most of us own what we can afford very few can buy what they really want. We learn to like the equipment we have. For anyone to think that they are better or have the only equiment that counts is just plain stupid. I am fortumnate enough to have some decent equipment and some that just fits my budget.

In terms of this forum it is "lawn mower forum" that is pretty generic and therefore suggest it covers all, and that is why I joined. If that is a problem than I'll move on.

The truth be known, I do the plowing my wife does much of the shoveling. Last year I used the MF with the bucket loader to do the snow this year I'm using the Craftsman GT with a plow. I'm trying to keep the hours down of the loader. I guess time will tell which will be the best for the job.

Not complaining but would like to see some snow But the nice weather gives me time to cut up my old case 125B and scrap it before the price of scraps drops any more

:laughing: no,just funiture/junk free so i can walk on it without trip over by a lawn chair or 2..

i rather sit indian style on the ground since i'm on the ground anyways,i don't have to worry my lawn chair breaks due to my weight,and fall and hurt my butt on the payment(ground/cement)..

and plus we got lot of stray cats and they use my previous lawn chair as their bed and also their toilet and got it ruined due to yucky smell,boy i was soooo>>>

85 degrees here in VA yesterday --- Glad it is still winter !

I STILL don't believe in global warming, but do wish this natural cycle would swing back to what should be normal temps for this time of year. I just hope that everything does not bud out and then get frozen.

OK ----- now front porch has SOME activity ---- anyone care to comment ? :biggrin:

I also would like the warm weather to slow down. March and early April is normally the time I get my equipment ready for the new season. I haven't had the time to address the equipment yet and my wife is already starting yard clean up. I usually don't like to run the equipment on old oil, but this year that is just not happening. Just can't say no to my wife or is it I'm afaid too:smile: We still haven't pruned the fruit trees. Guess I'll have to start working overtime:laughing:

I don't think fear has a place in a relationship of this type. Mutual respect is important, fear is a liability and puts the relationship at a disadvantage, destined to fail as such. Although fear has held many relationships together, It's for the wrong reasons, unlike happiness.

Yah, the same here. Don't know how to handle this. March is for getting equipment ready for work, April is for leaf and branch pick up and late April early May is the start of the mowing season. Everything is happening in mid-March, go figure.

Well on the positive side I have all of my tractors ready to go. Cut grass again today it was in the 80's. Tomorrow it si surposed to get cold 69 :laughing:

I have had to relocate 2 opossums already this spring. They and the dogs just can't seem to "play nice', so the opossums have to go. The second one had a pouch full of young'uns so I'm glad I got rid of that one.

A Possum CAN be nasty - Had one get into a 55 Gal. drum that was nearly empty that I used to hold chicken feed. Started to reach down in there with the feed scoop and got startled by a growl and a mouth full of teeth. It took an old broom handle to get the critter to latch on so I could pull it out and get it out of the Chicken Coup. Glad it growled before latching on to my hand or arm.
I was a teenager then and will be 60 this week -- still remember that WELL !

Calving should start within a couple weeks,hope to get around a hundred.
I hardly watch TV,it's 99% useless info anyway..that includes the commercials..so i don't know what happens in Edmonton.

No possums to worry here either.

I wonder what that is with that friggin curser,damn screen keeps jumping out of sight and it's very difficult to add another line once it happens.

i have another snooze now,..zzzzzz..zzzz..:wink:

Ah man I have been mowing again and boy does it feel great! :laughing: That Honda is a BEAST! Mulched some thick grass and not a single clump! That is going at 4MPH too with deck at 2"!!!! :biggrin:

I've already got yellow squash, and few tomatoes out of the garden.
full moon tonight, hope it's clear by you..... nothing like a full moon on a clear night with snow on the ground. It makes me want to go for a hike and see what I can get into.

Still got that Lesabre, 60,300 miles it now. All OEM except for one set of new pads and rotors and one coolant flush and refill, no problems otherwise. Put a Class 2 hitch and trailer wiring kit on it recently.

Glad to see you having good luck till 60,000with only front brakes. My Buick has a clicking issue with the back brakes(early for only 20,000miles)otherwise a real nice car.

My wife drives a 95 GMC 2500 4x4 ,6.5 diesel,just turned 400 K last month.Its just like the energizer bunny,keeps going....and ....going..and.. going :wink:
A couple brake pads and rotors,a set of tires..and 1 PMD in the last 100 K

I have a 89 GMC 3/4 ton farm truck with 6.2 diesel,...tach says,,,,720.000..

My Lesabre got a full 4-wheel brake job, OEM pads still had about 10,000 miles left all the way around but the passenger side inner front pad lining came off the backing and ruined the rotor. They make rotors so thin these days they basically are not worth turning down even one time cost me $340 for four new rotors and 8 new pads saved about half doing it myself.
