Most of the cheap Chinese carburetors I buy run just fine.
Same. Almost all work fine. I just don't want to get someone to bet their business on one like I do as I do this as a hobby on stuff I find. Twice have I got a carb that didn't work- one time, they didn't drill the bowl's bolt.

kbowley, You can pay me later.

Look at the grime on the valve cover. Scared to pull the shroud and look at some cooling fins.

Oh and nice air filter LOL. One of those racing ones that flow a lot of air, and dirt LOL.

Well, I'll be! By golly, that's the first one I have seen run right...although I didn't hear it at different engine speeds. What's your PayPal address?

The Chinese are masters of knocking off products in general. The difference is 25 years ago, the quality just wasn’t there, however, today, it is much improved. Much of what we buy and use everyday is made in China, etc.

I didn't put the filter back yet. It was only the second time it fired up. Notice the 2 screws missing, one that bolts the filter holder - throttle - shroud.

Dirt- how many times have you come across something that has never been cleaned? Everyone here knows it is normal. I fired up the power sprayer for a good cleaning afterwards.

I am having a tough time finding a 180 with a protruding horn from the intake manifold; there should be just two gaskets and an insulator. Can you provide the model code, i.e., fj180v-cm03, please? Remove the intake tube so you have some room to work or simply remove the air filter housing intact. I would replace all the gaskets, as they are rough but may still work okay, as the inner sides close to the carb bore are intact. Once the air filter tube is removed, you should be able to angle the carb easier to get first the choke linkage, then the throttle linkage and spring hooked up. That breather tube is rough, and I recommend replacement to prevent ingestion, being that it comes in after the filter. Please get back to us with the full model number. Thanks
Kbowey, are you still around on this forum? Haven't seen you chime in much recently. Hope you return. You are an intelligent valued member here.
