Engine won't run

Have Husqvarna push mower with Kohler XT-675-2075 engine.Sometimes it will try to start and just sputter and backfire.I've replaced the plug,carburator,air filter and drained the gas tank and cleaned out the fuel line.Still wont run.Dont know what else to do.Dont wan to spend more to fix than what it cost new.

Check oil level on dipstick, spark plug gap 0.03 in. or 0.76mm with spark plug gauge. If you have run over anything recently with mower flywheel key may be sheared or broken. Check underside of deck for being clean, inspect blade, adapter, etc.
Engine needs fresh fuel, oil, compression, spark & air to run.

like I said in original post,put new plug with proper gap,new air filter and a brand new carburator.The oil is fine.mower runs(barely) for a few minutes coughing and sputtering before it shuts off.

Check your flywheel key. it may be sheared or partially sheared.
