Can some one give me the RPMs my engine should be running at? I've suspected for a while that its running to slow and finally found the inductive clamp for my multi meter, and would like to check it. I believe the model number is 92908, if I remember correctly. Its on a 78 v212p snapper self propelled mower. Thanks.

They usually dial it in on the length of the blade, usually @ 3400ish..

Could it be bogging down on you? Have you checked compression? Under deck clean blades sharp? These are things that could make your engine seem under powered

No, my main problem is that it leaves a lot of uncut blades of grass, but the blade is pretty well shot. I just thought it sounded like it ran slow when compared to other mowers. I was going to sell the mower, as it has some engine issues, but i've been thinking about keeping it lately and restoring it. I'm just not sure if I want to sink the time and money into rebuilding the motor, or try and find a replacement for it.
