I have a JD L110 with a Kohler Command 17.5 hp engine. The mower only seems to run a little over 1/2 throttle. If I turn the throttle to slow the motor dies. I cleaned carb, blew air through lines, checked the in line filter, filled tank with gas but no change in performance. Worked fine the last time out. Any ideas?
Engine runs 1/2 to 3/4 throttle

Did you clean the idle circuit in the carb?
Model number of the engine will be helpful. should be on a shiny silver tag.
