Engine Replacement

Blown engine on 2014 model with 33R777-0003-G1 B&S 18.5hp. What is appropriate model to replace it and where would I find one in Michigan? Would 33S877-0043 found on Amazon work?

The direct replacement is 33S877-0014-G1 But the 33S877-0043 PTO ends are the same would with some possible mods the mower side. One would be a change in the wiring for the lights as 0043 has a 9 amp alternator and the current engine a dual circuit alternator. The dual circuit has both an AC output for the lights and a 3 amp DC output for charging the battery and other electronics. The 9 amp system would only have a DC output that must jumpered the the lighting AC circuit. Of course the lights will then have a switch to them off.

The 33S877-0014-G1 further supercedes to the 33S877-0019-G1 Which also has the 9 amp charging system same as the 33S877-0043
 
I wish Briggs would just keep the Power Portal up to date as this what I got this morning.

Not current accurate info on the site is just being plain lazy.
 
What happens a lot is Power portal will show a replacement engine, but when that replacement engine is put into PD to order they come up with their own thing and supercede to another engine.

The problem there is PD cancelled my account due low volume of sales. After Briggs filed their bankruptcy sales took a dive here. Before there was lots Briggs to repair now it mainly Kohler and Kawasaki.
