Lever turns 180 degree instead of only 90 degrees. Can not find where what is missing (stopper or something like it).
 
Look under the dash
The lever that pulls the wire is held to the shaft by a pin
Yours has broken or fallen out
Go to the JD web page and look at the parts diagram for your mower it will show you a lot better than I cah do a word picture here
It is not a very good design as there isa massive shear load on it so no surprise that it shears
I drill them out & fit a bigger roll pin
 
Thank you. The screw is there but the linkage itself is broken. Is just a weak spot. Therefore it is bend down and slides under the bracket. The new ones are more solid and I guess don't break that easy. Thanks again.
