I purchased a 2012 Dixie chopper Z3 44" cut, with a Briggs & Stratton 23 hp engine mod#44L-777.
The mower runs great cuts great.
My problem is it will not start with me in the seat, hand brake on and the levers in neutral, clutch off.
if I release the hand brake it will start just fine.
I cannot get off the mower to remove a rock or limb in the way.
I shut down the blades, I put on the brake with me in the seat it dies. If I get out of the seat with out putting on the brake it dies as it should.
I need to know how to put on the brake and keep the engine at idle
I have replaced the brake switch no difference.
Thanks for any help as it a pain to stop start all the time.

Hello G.,

Welcome to the forum.

We need all the product label information of the machine to be able to help you with anything other than wild guesses.

The old days of simple problems have long passed.

Appears to be DC 2012 Iron Eagle Zee 3 2344 or 2650. Going have to contact DC to see if they have the parts ipl and a wiring schematic in the archives. They are going to want to know the actual model and serial numbers. Online only the owners manual is present.
