How long is the power lead?
Is it coiled up or run out flat ?
How long is a little while ?
How hot does the electric motor feel when it cuts out ?
Is it a brushed or induction type motor ?

When you say "blow a fuse" do you mean the Honda generator goes into OVERLOAD mode, or does the push-button circuit breaker pop out?

Does the trimmer work okay on a regular extension cord?

Which Honda generator do you have, an EU2000i?

When this model goes into OVERLOAD, it's usually due to excessive heat/load on the circuit. If the breaker pops out, it's often due to a direct short or other external electrical malfunction.

Try switching the Eco-Throttle switch to OFF; this will force the generator to run at maximum power all the time, sometimes necessary for high-current loads that start/stop frequently (like an electric hedge trimmer).
