Echo or Stihl??? which do u prefer

I think that stihl is the best, very good equipment for cheaper than echo. Have an echo blower, and have some small problems and it's tough to start. I think stihl sound cooler but that's just my opinion
 
Echo.. I got tired of the cheap weedeaters so i bought the srm210, and it has really done well, and the warranty is good too.
 
I use Stihl products. I use the Stihl Ultra 2-cycle oil mixed with 89 octane gas for them.
Have three dealers around here that carry Stihl.

It is always good to have parts available, and dealer support.:thumbsup: .. I like Stihl but went with Echo because of the 5 year warranty..
 
I am a diehard Stihl fan (afterall Andreas Stihl did invent the first chainsaw) but I have also owned several Echo products. Stihl and Echo is the Ford and Chevy of the power equipment market. In my opinion Stihl does tend to last longer,however although I love Stihl,I do have some things to complain about. Last spring I purchased a brand new Stihl MS250. On the first day of using it I had to pull the plug out and get the gas off of it. It floods very easily. I've used the saw maybe 4 times in the past year I have owned it and last week I couldn't get it to start. It did also have something come loose on the engine and had to be taken to the dealer. It was some sort of electrical connector that was preventing the engine from starting. Overall I don't really like the chainsaw,but stihl has been overall good to me over the years so I can't hold one bad product against them. I've had Echo break on me more than I have stihl.
 
Just a difference of opinion here. I have been doing my own yard and property for over 40 years and I recently had to replace my gas string trimmer. I heard over the years Stihl was the best. I bought a 55R (i believe it was) and from the first day I used it I noticed several irritating things about it, i.e., jerky compression pull start (developed elbow soreness from it), idled crappy, short string length when fed and cut by the shield, and when i turned it upside down to edge along my curbs the string guard was way too big and I couldn't see the actual trim work being done, and the so called automatic string head was supposed to be worry free. Well it got to the point I had to return it after 30 days and explained about the head not feeding and I had to manually turn it off and remove the string and restring..i suggested a refund, they asked that I try a new string head and I did. same issues occurred, not to mention the lousy features i think stihl has mentioned above (but no fault of the dealer).

i took it back and got a full refund (good dealer) and went and bought an Echo 255I "easy start" with the latest self feed string head. it was like going from a toy trimmer with the stihl to a commercial model....the idle is smooth, guard is about 1/3 size, unbelievably easy to start, feed line is about 2 inches longer and feeds great, etc. Best return/refund/repurchase i have had in a very long time!

the Stihl and the Echo are both home models.. 55r Stihl and SRM255i Echo. Believe me get the echo over the stihl.
