Echo leaf blower dies after 30 seconds

I have an Echo PB-500T backpack leaf blower. It will start right up and run fine for about 20 seconds then start to die out. I can keep it running but it will not rev high at all. If i pull in the trigger all the way it will sputter out. And if I try to slowly hit the trigger it will rev up a little then start to die out. Any idea what this is?
 
Fuel pick up tube In the fuel tank... pull it out and check for deterioration, cracks or loose fit... :smile:KennyV

I looked today and it looks like from the top of the tank there is 2 tubes going in. Then when I look in the tank One tube goes to the bottom of the tank. On the other one there is no tube. Its just a little metal piece at the top. Should there be two tubes going to the bottom of the tank?
 
It could be... or plugged filter... the fuel lines are a common problem, so not a bad thing to check when looking into fuel related problems... :smile:KennyV
 
My blower did the same thing. Was the filter.

You can replace the filter and lines for about $5
The kit even comes with a handy tool to help feed the lines threw the holes in the tank.

No only one line goes to the bottom. One is pick up :licking:tube with filter and the other is:ashamed: return tube. But I hope this helps I posted it on another thread here.
"Something could be wrong with your fuel line. I had a old weed eater that would do that and it was because of me letting people use it and they would but the gas back in it for the use of the machine. But what was wrong is the cheap 87 octane gas that was being but in it was making the fuel line soft and it would close up on its self. After I started using higher octane fuel and running oil with stabilizers in them it stopped."
 
They sell the kit at Home Depot or napa or advance auto part for more then half price of a dealer
