Ford made a pick up that looked something like that. Could it of been custom made? The door handles look GM?

My guess would be VW bus that was modified. It has the round emblem on the front and the back was chopped and the rear wheel covers were added.

This is a Dodge A series van. They supposedly were available with up to a 426 Wedge engine although most had the 225 Slant six. This van may have had a V-8 engine, but the five lug front wheels indicate that it was originally a 1/2 ton. This was a conversion for towing 5th wheel trailers, usually campers. The dual rear wheels was a kit to replace the single rear wheel but not change the rear end to a regular dually. This kit didn't work very well as there was too much dish.

These trucks were originally mated up with a 5th wheel camper and the tank was for LP gas for the camper. My older cousin and her husband had one of these units years ago. The Dodge was underpowered, hot, noisy and had poor handling, but this was years ago in the 60s-70s. They came to the 50th anniversary party that I had for my parents in 1985 and had a new Ford 350 custom van with 5th wheel cut back, dually, 460 gas powered rig, but with the same 5th wheel camper that came with the Dodge way back when. It was a nice camper, I think that a company in Indiana did the original conversion of the Dodge/camper setup.

Actually the Dodge is still very much as it was originally. The rear windows look like the rear of the cab from a GM truck of similar vintage. My sister on the west coast has all of our family pics and I think that there were a few pics that dad had taken back when.

I remember this Dodge from the 60's.
I think that is what you have as a base truck that have been modified.
