Pull your gas line and see if any comes out if not your line or filter is bad if it does you have a plugged carb

Pulled gas line at filter and blew thru filter to gas tank. No blockage that direction. Also no gas in the filter. Blew toward the fuel pump and heard the impeller turning. No gas there either. It appears the fuelmpump is vacuum driven and I could not locate any leaks. I'm at a loss.

Iv never herd of a fuel pump impeller but I bet it's a diaphragm pump and you diaphragm got ripped or your check valves are stuck

I was just calling it what I thought it might be since it appears to have a line coming from the engine and I assume that is some sort of vacuum hose. But you are correct. It is the one pictured on the left. The shop has the mower now and he said it was probably the diaphragm. No telling what this is gonna cost me. But the warm weather around here has the grass on a growing spurt and I need my mower back before the "lawn police" write me a ticket. :) Thanks for you response and info.

Thanks, its just that I picked the busiest time of the year to take my business to a lawnmower repair shop. But he is good and pretty reasonable. Next time I have a problem I'll check here first.

Thanks again,

Jerry
