I have a manual on the motor, it covers ECV630, ECV 749 and a couple more. The manual says there is a compression release. I frequently have trouble starting, the starter engages, turns a little, and stops. Usually if I try a few times it works. If not, boosting the battery gets it running. Today, when it did the same, we pulled the spark plug, and cranked it to eliminate hydro lock. No fuel spray, and it started great when we put the plug back in. Is there a problem with the compression release? If so, what do I need to do? I mow with this every couple of weeks, a 5 acre property. It runs great once it starts. Here in Louisiana, we're nowhere near the winter off season. The battery is maybe a couple years old. I have charged it, and cleaned the battery, solenoid, and starter connections. All that helped, but it still does this sometimes.
