I have a Husqvarna YTH1542 with about 500 hours on it. The mower runs and cuts great. For some reason the deck will barely raise enough to get the front wheels off the ground on a level surface. The only way I have found to get it ot raise any higher is to run the adjusting rods on the front of the deck all the way in. The problem with this is it sets the back of the deck much lower than the front.
This mower has the infinitely adjustable type of deck adjustment. You turn a knob to where you want the cutting height and lower the deck. Normally when you pull the handle to raise the deck to transport position it is very high and kind of locked into position so the deck cannot rattle around. I move this mower on a trailer often so this is a big problem. Thanks for the help.

I'm not sure oif this will help but it seems to me that one of my Craftsman gave me a problem like you discribe. In my case it was caused by the adjustment knob. I think if you try backing off the knob it will allow the deck to lift higher. Hope this helps.

Man, you need to adjust the height adjuster to it's lowest setting, adjust the rear to suit and you'll then find it adjust much better. I'd say over time it's been hit too much and has just moved the positiuon of the bolts. Loads of maintenance with mowers. I swear theres something to do on it every time I mow.
