Got a raptor 54 sd and can someone tell me what "a" setting starts out as, I'm thinking its 1.5". never had the alphabet system for measuring cutting depths, always been numeral. Mowed with it yesterday an it performed flawlessly...a absolute bargain in $$ and quality. Thx

Look in manual and see what the cut goes from and to.

The manual doesn't seem to explain what I am asking, I have read it several times. It explains how to adjust the settings but not what it is in actual inches. Looking for a 2.5" setting. Thx for responding. :cool:

Cutting Heights 1.5" - 4.5"
So lowest setting would be 1.5" and highest would be 4.5"
How many letters do you have?

A=1.5
B=1.75
C=2.0
D=2.25
E=2.5
F=2.75
G=3.0
H=3.25
I=3.5
J=3.75
K=4.0
L=4.25
M=4.5

Just remember that if everything is right then so are my numbers. Air pressure deck level and such all have to do with cut height.

The best way to know what your cutting heights are is just measure with a tape. Simply pull up your guard stick your tape down until it's on a level driveway or garage floor and see where the blade is hitting the tape. Tons of folks think they are mowing 3-3.5 inches and in reality are cutting @ 2 2.5 inches !

I agree. I was shocked how far off my mower was from the factory/dealer.

After some adjustments all is well (with in a half inch or so)
