CV730 has me stumped

Was that carb replacement with an OEM carb or the Amazonian chinesium carb that could be part of the run issue. I have had issues with the aftermarket replacement carbs from Amazon for the CV or SV series engines running rich. I have purchased a couple carbs from Amazon for those engines, just to steal the parts to fix the OEM carb.

Yes, unfortunately it was an Amazon carb. The original was long gone when I got the mower. If it was running rich, do you think changing jets would help? I looked it over and don't see any air/fuel adjustment on it

Changing jets may help. Seems like the Amazon carbs that I have received have all run rich. At least the Kohler carbs, Not so much with the carbs for Horizontal Kawasaki engines, but did have issues with a float leaking shortly after installing an Amazon carb on a Kaw used on a Scag. OEM was worn beyond useable condition, but still had the OEM carb so took the float out and installed it into the aftermarket carb.

I forgot to list that as well. I've pulled both fuel pick-ups out (there's 2 tanks on this mower) and was able to blow through both with no problem. When I did disconnect the fuel line at the carburetor and turn it over, it seems to flow just fine. Is it possible that the pulse line for the pump is collapsing? I don't know how these operate, whether it's vacuum or positive pressure.

So, you have good fuel flow at carb, and have replaced the pulse line. As ILengine was saying, it could be the amazon carb You said no adjustments. How did you pick the carb? Did it have many reviews? That's one of the things I check, I don't want to buy it if it only shows a small number of reviews. Have you thought about cleaning up the original carb?

Did you flush out the tank? You've pretty much replaced the fuel system other than the tank. When you pulled the fuel pickups, how did they look?
