Cub cadet xt2 drive belt system

I’ve got a 2021 cub cadet xt2 that wasn’t going in reverse, I suspected the drive belt was bad so I swapped it out for a new belt. The problem I’m having is that the new belt even though it’s the correct size and OEM belt it has too much slack in it when I assemble everything. I’ve literally taken the belt off and reinstalled everything a dozen times and I still have slack. I even put the old belt back on and there was still slack. I cleaned some debris out of the linkage but that didn’t make a difference. I’ve got video and pictures of the moving parts and everything seems correct. I’ve quadruple checked the belt routing. The springs are good too. What am I missing here?

Need the model and serial number from tag under seat. Is this a hydrostat or the 2 belt drive system with variable speed stack pulley. And if the 2 belt system I hope you replaced both belts.
