Hi guys: a friend brought me piece of junk and asked me to fix it. Cub Cadet CC800 walk behind Model (12AE76M8010) Engine is a (Cub Cadet 382cc OHV) If it was someone else it would have been a big NO but he needs help sometimes. And also I'm not a small engine repairman I just like to work on them. The wiring harness was ripped off, the coil had a big crack in it no spark, key switch was destroyed, gas lines all bad. So I replaced all that. And it started right up. But only at idle the gas lever is at full throttle. I can push on the governor arm and it revs up let it go and back to idle but it runs perfect till I move my finger lol. I no nothing about the governors on these engines or how to adjust them, can someone give me some info on this please, There also may something missing. Thanks

Thanks for all the info from reading your answers I did find the solution O had the throttle linkage rubbing against something causing it to stick and not move correctly running like new now, Thank you very much

Need to adjust the throttle control to fully open the throttle plate, where it attaches to the engine.
