Action thanks for the update an the model number of what worked for you,

Wanted to share some pics of my 3d printed part, just installed it decided to screw it so it would be easier to replace if it breaks,
lets hope it holds up, if not I'll probably be ordering same model you found.
 
I am always amazed when someone "manufactures" a part.

The stress point will be the attachment of the new piece to the door.
Glued and screwed may be needed to make the attachment.

This design uses a peg or a pivot on either end for attachment of the door.
A similar design uses a long thin metal rod as a pivot that goes the entire length of the front edge of the door and engages the handle bracket.
IMO that is a better design. I think it is a more expense designed versus the two pivot design. Just a guess.

With the non-Craftsman rear door, I have mowed my smaller urban home lawn twice with no issues.
Likely I will treat the plastic door and especially the plastic around the pivots with Meguires Leather Conditioner at least annually.
That door lives in a dirty dusty harsh environment. Treating the plastic may help extend the life. That and careful use of the door and catch bag during engagement and disengagement.

IMO too many users get too rough or careless with equipment. (all kinds of equipment) Then complain how the design is poor or defective. Yet complain again at the cost to repair or the cost to buy the machine brand new. While the manufacturer is building something that works as good as possible at a price point that is acceptable in the market place.

Just my market opinion which may be worth less than a cup of Jo adjusted for inflation.
