Craftsman T260 Melted Wiring

Well, I have came to the conclusion, after cutting off the salvageable parts, that this is not worth my time. This would be different if the harness was NLA, but since I got this for cheap, I'm comfortable spending a bit to get it running. And I'm not THAT confident that I could do a clean electrical job on it.

Rewiring everything by hand would be a lot of work. Even if you end up paying $200 for harness, and let’s say another $100 in parts to get the mower correct to resell. There should still be some good gross profit it in it being a 6 year old mower with only 80 hours.
Otherwise just part out and keep engine, wheels, seat, deck, etc.

Oh for sure. I'm seeing several similar mowers for sale for around $1500, which would be a huge profit margin for the deal I got. Not to mention that it isn't even "mower season" here yet when the demand is crazy.
 
from a resale value, a new harness would do much better than a whole bunch of all red or blue wires etc., giving away the damaged areas. I suspect you will get most of that cost back in the price you get for it.

It must nice to get up to 1500 the best offer I got for a fully repaired Yard Man with 90 day warranty was 125 when I had a tag on it for 500. I had nearly 400 in parts in it. That's when I quit restoring older mowers; unless, they are for my own use.

I got a Craftsman back in last year that I sold nearly 11 years ago. Several things had to be repaired and I have been cutting my own yard with it but I not going put it for sale. That way I don't get any more insult offers.

I have lots of demand for small equipment, but no one has the money to pay for it in cash. I quit taking credit cards because of reversed charge games.

I never accepted credit cards, just not worth the monthly fees. And if they stop payment on a check here it is a class 4 felony. I currently working on lawyer that apparently didn't know that. I hope he servers some time for that check.

Well, That's why I try to hold out for Craftsman or Husqvarna riding mowers. Husqvarna's especially hold their value very well, almost on par with JD.
