OK... just purchased the Sears/Craftsman 54" Model 28861 with the 8" turning radius. I'm NOT a big Sears fan but this mower seemed to fit my requirements along with my budget so, we are going to give it a fair shot. I will definitely post back here with my experiences.... good or bad!

Right now, I'm trying to decide whether I should purchase the snowblower attachment or go with a plow attachment for snow removel. Home is in Hayward, WI so I'll be getting some snow. I have what I consider a long driveway and a large parking area in front of a 3-car garage. I'm thinking that a snowblower will give me the most versatility because I can clean the entire drive and have room as well as power to move additional snow. I'm not believing that a plow will be able to push that second snow load far enough to give me the room I want.

Anyone have the snowblower attachment that can give use a run-down on it's ability? I'm thinking I would go with the heavier Bero model over the Craftsman model.

One thing to remember about a blower versus a plow, is the fall/spring use, when the snow is wetter and heavy. A snowblower (even a good two-stage) is more likely to clog up, during those times. A plow you keep silicone-sprayed down will 'roll' the snow off, if you have it angled.

But, you are right about a blower being able to get it out of your way further than plowing.

...and you are also right, that you run out of places to put the snow a lot faster with a plow.

twall, remember what I told you about my Deere 318 with a front plow? Had way too much power but when the snow was wet and heavy I never had enough traction, the wet stuff would build up and stop forward motion..and I had a LOT more rear weight than any Craftsman garden tractor could handle. If you get a lot of wet heavy snow, a blower is the way to go, in my opinion.

LOL... looks like 50% say plow while 50% say snowblower!
I guess the best option is a snowblower for my tractor and a plow for my ATV?
