I'm a real beginner at this repair Where does the governor linkage connect? (to the throttle or to the choke? Where does the throttle linkage connect (on both ends) Thanks

Which one of the thousands of Craftsman mowers that have been made over the last 80 years are you working on.

like asking which egg shell the one of 100,000 chickens came from. Each model is different in parts. It changes over time. The parts change over time and can depend on what the motor is used for. Hence ILENGINE is suggesting you provide a model and serial number. Maybe some photographs too.

"Typically" the governor and throttle are the same. Gov controls the throttle as to not over rev the sucka'. More revs the more the gov pulls the throttle to the closed or idle position.

Choke a lot of times is on the throttle cable. Same cable pushing forward more, engages/disengages the choke.

Search for your mower on youtube. Look for dirty carb videos. Should show you everything you need.
