Craftsman 917.370724 drive engagement cable

Good evening,
I seem to be at a dead end on trying to replace the rear wheel drive engagement cable on my craftsman lawn mower. The part number is 196002, which when checking states its discontinued. I know its the same cable for similar model husqvarna and poulan mowers also..
Any ideas, its kinked pretty bad Thanks in advance.

Determine the length and overall design of the cable and find another one that will work.

Yes, the ends etc make it a tough cable to replicate I think ( at least for me )

As a final attempt you might try:

If you can find a part number go to ebay and do a saved search.

If none appears right now you will get a email when one matching your search DESCRIPTION appears.

I would do at least two saved searches, one with just a description and using your mower model and another using the craftsman part number.

Doing this saved search you might get a notice of a used one and/or a new old stock.

I would ADD this description as a saved search also. Be aware that you will get some notices that ARE NOT exactly the cable you are looking for, so review the pictures carefully even if the part number matches.

Personally I can't trust Jacks anymore as several items they took and couple weeks later they cancelled the orders.

Now Gardner my Husqvarna distributor show it as no longer available.

I tried add it to my cart at Jacks and it wouldnt let.me after trying several times? Oh well, I appreciate the help from everyone...
