I have a tecumseh 2 cycle engine from a jacobsen deck. My question is did some models not use needle bearings be inserts. The reason I asked the service book reads two cycle engines may be equipped with steel or aluminum connecting rods. Aluminum connecting rods use steel liners when needle bearings are utilized. I have a tecumseh 2 cycle engine busted up connecting rod and I did not find any needle bearing. The piston is a step piston just like a power products piston. I little in the dark here .
