Confusion pertaining to PTO switch

Hi All ,
I have a Husqvarna mz61ZT with electrical issues.
1) Engine won't crank when PTO switch is off. I've looked at diagrams and it shows one of the three set of contacts on the PTO switch as being closed but when i check the switch the path thru the switch is open , this doesn't seem correct according to the diagram , it should be closed to deliver power to the solenoid when ignition is turned to crank. Am I wrong? The odder thing is if I engage the PTO it'll crank. Are they making bad switches?

Have you had this mower since new, or something that was picked up from another source. On the PTO switch there should be 8 pins. 2 rows of 3 pins and the bottom set with 2 pins. With the PTO switch in the off position the left and right side contacts should have continuity on the 2 rows of three. With the pto on the center pin should have continutity with the right pin on all three rows.

Has a wire been moved from a left pin to the center pin on the top row of 3 pins.

Thanks , I did find that the connector that was supposed to be connected to the nc contact was connected to the no on the PTO switch ...must have done it last year unknowingly...all good now. Still have to replace PTO relay as clutch fails to energize.
