Church Mower

Somebody gave me a fairly new Craftsman rider with the 22hp Kohler. The Bendix on the starter was trashed, and the ring gear on the flywheel had split and was just loose on the flywheel. Of course, they don't sell the ring gear, and I couldn't see spending $400 for a new flywheel, then a new starter. I never could find a replacement ring gear. That mower is still sitting on the back of the property, being robbed of parts for various things.

Hello jes-in-sac,

I know you are likely just making conversation but....

Don't hijack someone else's post like this it creates confusion with the original posting.

Tried to loosen the bendix with WD-40 and then carb cleaner as I saw in some videos. Did not work. Just replaced the starter and am back in business. Thank you for the help.
