Chrome rings for Quantum L head engine

Gents; Have a Briggs L head 190cc with 68mm piston...125K02. I want to re-ring it and am looking for a set of chrome rings. There is almost a dizzying array of piston ring part numbers for these engines. Before I end up spending a lot of money on incorrect rings, can one of you gents help me? Thanks my friends
 
Hello D.,

Why do you want to "re-ring" it? That is the most intense and often not required repair on one of these engines.

Carburetor and ignition problems are the most common reason these engines need much of any attention.

Anyway.... remove the top plastic and you will come to the metal top fan shroud. On the side of that shroud is a metal area just above the exhaust muffler. The model, type and serial numbers are stamped in that area. The numbers are obscured with the plastic cosmetic cover in place.

That information is needed to find the exact replacement parts. Not all B&S engines were built the same.
