cc30 won't move forward/ reverse

Borrowed neighbors cub 30. Mowed OK. Shut off, blew off, started back up to put in shed. Won't move in forward or reverse. It's acts like when you pull out the wire at the rear end on a hydrostatic mower to disengage so you can push the mower around. It's like there is a safety switch not letting the mower go into gear. Anyone experience this? Thanks, gatorblade

That makes good sense as it happened after releasing the brake. I will be checking those belts next week. Thanks so much, gatorblade

Belts ok. Took to mower shop. Mechanic took lower back cover off to check pulleys, tension on belts ect. Checked out ok. Back together, worked in forward and reverse. Mechanic had no explanation. This happened to the owner last summer with the same results. The owners yard takes 30 min. to mow. Both times this happened the mower was ran an extra 45 minutes due to helping a neighbor mow their yard. For now the mower will stay in the owners yard till the problem is solved. Thanks, gatorblade

I had same issue today. I found that the break did not really released in the back even I released in the front. When removed the lower back cover, found the break's spring is not strong enough to pull it back at transmission side while I had released it in the front. When I touch spring and it released.
In your case, it released while you took it to the shop. It is a design issue. If it happens again, just do it manually from the bottom side.
